Vegan men on the move. Creating change through compassion.
We’re building a movement for vegan men to be guardians, support and lead with purpose, and take action for a better world. Want to be part of something bigger than yourself?
Let’s create change through compassionate action.
Why this matters…
Mental Health Crisis
Men are facing a silent mental health emergency, with suicide rates continuing to rise. The suppression of compassion, taught from an early age and reinforced through industries like animal agriculture, takes a devastating toll. Slaughterhouse workers experience PTSD rates comparable to war veterans, perpetuating cycles of emotional disconnection in our communities.
Health Epidemic
The connection between animal product consumption and men’s health issues remains largely ignored by major health movements. From increased risks of prostate cancer linked to dairy consumption to heart disease associated with processed meat, our dietary choices directly impact our wellbeing. Yet these connections are often overlooked in discussions about men’s health.
Violence Cycle
The unacceptable number of women lost to violence every year worldwide reflects a deeper societal crisis. Communities with slaughterhouses consistently show higher rates of violent crime and domestic abuse. The normalization of violence towards animals creates ripple effects throughout society, perpetuating cycles of harm that we must address.
Cultural Conditioning
From an early age, boys are taught to suppress their natural empathy and compassion. The myth that meat consumption equals masculinity reinforces harmful stereotypes about strength and sensitivity. This cultural conditioning creates barriers to emotional expression and authentic connections, limiting men’s potential for growth and meaningful relationships.
Systemic Impact
The costs of toxic masculinity extend far beyond individual struggles, creating ripple effects throughout healthcare, economy, and society. This system perpetuates generational trauma, affecting how we raise our children and shape future generations. The financial burden on healthcare systems and social services continues to grow while root causes remain unaddressed.
Environmental Responsibility
Animal agriculture stands as one of the leading contributors to environmental degradation, from deforestation to water pollution. As men, we have a unique responsibility to lead by example in environmental stewardship. By choosing compassion, we directly impact habitat preservation, water conservation, and climate change mitigation.
The connection between animal product consumption and men’s health issues remains largely ignored by major health movements.

About
For years, I’ve carried a weight that many vegan men might recognize – the feeling that I’m not doing enough. That we’re responsible for more. Each day that passes without action feels like a missed opportunity to create real change. We see the problems clearly: the rising rates of preventable diseases, the environmental destruction, the normalized violence in our society, the suppression of compassion in men. Being aware isn’t enough anymore. Being vegan isn’t enough anymore.
This realization is what drove me to create MaleChicks™. Because one person alone can’t create the change we need. Individual actions matter, but a movement of compassionate men, working together? That could transform society. That could create the future our children deserve.
This is the most important work of my life because it touches every crucial aspect of our future: men’s health, compassion, environmental sustainability, and the world our children – and their children – will inherit. It’s about creating a movement where vegan men can step into their role as guardians and leaders, where compassion is recognized as strength, and where we can support each other in creating lasting change.
MaleChicks™ emerged from understanding how our treatment of male chicks in the egg industry reflects deeper issues in how society views both masculinity and compassion. It’s a call to transform pain into purpose, to turn awareness into action.
We’re building this movement because the world needs a new model of masculine leadership – one that puts compassion at its core. Whether you’re here because you care about health, animals, the environment, or the future of masculinity itself, you’ve found a community ready to take action.
If you’ve felt this same responsibility, this same urgency for change, you’re not alone. The time for waiting is over. The time for action is now.
Are you ready to be part of something bigger than yourself?

Hey, I’m Juan…
The founder of MaleChicks. I strongly believe that veganism is the most important cause of our time, and that compassionate men have a duty to lead the way forward.
I went vegan after watching Gary Yoroufsky’s speech about 10 years ago. Since then, I’ve felt an enormous responsibility to help make a change happen. I’ve been a husband for almost 20 years and I’m a father of three. I’m also a daily runner, a marketer, and brand/product designer at KindlyLoud.com.
